About our story

The Story of Kiran Nidhi Sansthan, Piplantri

In 2007, Shyam Sunder Paliwal from Piplantri, Rajasthan, lost his daughter Kiran. To honour her memory, he started a heartfelt tradition: planting 111 trees for every girl born. What began as a father’s tribute turned into a movement of love, dignity, and sustainability.

Each girl’s birth comes with a celebration — and a financial plan for her future through the Kiran Nidhi Yojana, which includes:

  • ₹10,000 from parents
  • ₹21,000 from the community and Bhamashahs
  • All deposited under the PM Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana until age 20

Over time, this grew into Kiran Nidhi Sansthan, a force for:

  • Women empowerment

Valuable Feedback

When I lost my daughter Kiran, I realized that no parent should ever feel that a girl’s birth is a burden. From that pain grew the seed of change — a tree for every daughter. Today, every time I see a young girl smiling beside the trees planted for her, I feel that Kiran still lives among us, through every leaf and every life that blossoms in Piplantri. This is not just a village initiative — it’s a living example of what love, unity, and respect can create.

When my daughter was born, the entire village came to plant trees in our field. I had tears in my eyes seeing so many people celebrate her arrival. We also started saving for her future through the Kiran Nidhi Yojana. Today, my daughter goes to school with pride. Every time she waters her trees, she says, ‘These are growing with me.’ For us, that’s true happiness.
